Grief Counselling

Have you recently lost someone, through sickness, accident or taking their own life? Are you grieving someone you loved, or trying to make sense of what has happened? Grief counselling offers a safe way to explore the impact of your loss, express your grief in an unfiltered way and find ways to move on with life.

Losing a loved one is one of life’s great challenges.

When the funeral is over, the dust settles and our friends go back to their normal lives, you can feel lonely and the loss becomes amplified.

Finding your way in what seems like a new life can be overwhelming. It can bring about feelings of confusion, anger and shock, as well as anxiety, sleeplessness and more. Grief requires a conscious effort to move past and, without proper processing, it can lead to long term trauma.

I can help you make sense of this moment and find a way forward to peace and happiness.

Through professional training and my own deep grief journey of losing my brother too young, I have many tools and insights to share.

My approach is heart centred, listening to your thoughts, feelings and physical symptoms. I create a safe space to dig deeper to understand their origin and impact, balancing your body, mind and heart to find peace and perspective.

I work with you to first arrange your thoughts, unpack your feelings then move consciously through the trauma.

I can support you with recent or old unresolved grief and at whatever stage of the grieving process you are at.

Steps may include:

  • Sharing memories of your loved one in a safe space

  • Taking the time to fully reflect

  • Making sense of the experience and how it is affecting your life

  • Providing tools for coping and way to live with the loss in peace

  • Establishing rituals to continue to honour your loved one

How I help

Hello, I’m Annabelle.

I am a relationship and grief counsellor based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

My speciality is supporting people through relationship challenges as well as the loss of loved ones, providing a safe space to express your feelings, explore the impact it is having on you and help you find a pathway to healing and peace.

Private

Everything that happens in sessions is 100% private. The only time this privacy may be broken is if it revealed to me that someone, whether your or another, may be in immediate harm.

Safe

There is no judgement from me in anything you reveal. Almost everyone has thoughts and feelings they keep hidden from the world for fear of judgement. Creating a safe space to talk about these is an essential part of the healing process.

Personal

While counselling is a certified practice with proven techniques, each individual responds differently. As such, I seek to first understand you and what makes you comfortable, then work with you in the most effective way possible.
